ABOUT MEGALO
Megalo was founded in 1980 as Megalo International Screen Collective: a workshop cooperative of Canberra-based artists focussed on generating employment opportunities, and social and political engagement, through creative design and production. Today Megalo is the only studio in Australia to provide artists, creative practitioners and the broader community, at all stages, with access to facilities in the full range of print disciplines.
Studio ACcess
Our state of the art Screen Studio is home to three vaccuum tables for screen on paper, our expansive fabric printing table, washout + exposure room, t-shirt jig and heat press. The press studio houses world-class presses and facilities for a range of techniques, including relief, etching, photogravure and lithography. The press studio also includes dedicated spaces for aquatint, etching acids, plate prep, lithographic stone graining areas and workspaces for drawing and carving.
cLASSES + wORKSHOPS
Megalo’s schedule of classes and workshops is designed to provide opportunities for participants at multiple levels of experience with printmaking, from regular introductory courses unpacking the fundamental techniques, to intensive programs building upon participants’ skills.
