SEPTEMBER Print social
Tetra pak exquisite corpse with Robbie Karmel and Francis Kenna
5:30pm - 8:00pm Friday 27 September, 2024
Join us for an evening of dry point etching and social printing to produce a collaborative Exquisite Corpse print at Megalo!
Drypoint etching is a method of image making where a hard surface is scratched with a sharp point to produce a surface that holds ink where lines have been scratched. Working with recycled tetra paks (milk cartons) provides a cheap and fast means to produce images that is softer and easier to scratch than copper or zinc plates, providing a great introduction to the process.
The Exquisite Corpse is a surrealist party game in which the group makes collaborative prints where each artist contributes a section of a creature without seeing what the other artists have already produced. In this engaging and collaborative workshop you will create your own exquisite corpse drypoint that will be printed in a friendly and social environment, and enjoy drinks and snacks along the way.
Materials: Participants will receive all materials needed for the printing process, one complimentary drink, and snacks will be available throughout the evening.
Suitability: This workshop is perfect for all levels. You don’t have to be a Megalo member to do this workshop and the price does not include membership.
Cost: $80 per person
