This year Megalo Print Studio celebrates 45 years of printmaking on Ngunnawal, Ngunawal and Ngambri Country/Canberra!

Megalo Print Studio was founded in 1980 by a collective of artists and activists - including Alison Alder, Annie Kavanagh, Paul Ford, Julian Webb, and Colin Little - in a poorly ventilated tin shed in the suburb of Ainslie. Originally an initiative of Jobless Action, Megalo provided opportunities for unemployed youth, Megalo has since evolved into the largest open-access printmaking studio in Australia, supporting arts and communities for everyone and keeping the democratic spirit of printmaking alive.

Featuring works from the Megalo archive spanning the past 45 years, from social activism, community projects and fine-art editions, the exhibition reflects the continuing legacy of this extraordinary studio and looks towards the next chapter in our history together.

Come celebrate the past, present, and future of a studio that refuses to sit quietly!
