Silvi Glattauer
renegotiating The Landscape
26 March - 7 May 2022
Internationally acclaimed for her expertise in photogravure, Silvi Glattauer’s work deals with the issue of human intervention in the landscape across remote regions of the world. Choosing locations that hold a sense of belonging and connection to the landscape, Glattauer explores how these places of natural beauty are altered and degraded by humankind. Narrated through her personal references, Glattauer creates a sense of disorientation and questions how these landscapes are renegotiated by our interventions.
Silvi Glattauer is a practicing photomedia artist from Melbourne, Australia. A founding member of The Baldessin Press & Studio, Silvi is recognised as an authority in the contemporary Photopolymer Photogravure process as well as working with techniques that cross barriers between digital and the hand made. Silvi has exhibited throughout Australia and abroad, most recently at the Museum of Victoria, and four times as a Bowness Photography Prize finalist.
Renegotiating the Landscape is presented in association with Aquifer, a territory-wide program of events and exhibitions responding to the current climate crisis and coinciding with the ANU Climate Update 2022.
