MONOPRINT + CREATIVE BOOKMAKING
with Janet Parker-Smith

In this workshop you will discover a variety of monoprinting techniques and learn simple bookmaking skills. Using the etching presses you will learn how to create original prints using drawing methods, painterly printing techniques, stenciling and layering. From prints made during the workshop as well as using existing works you will learn how to make bound books that can be used as diaries, drawing books and original art works.
About the tutor
Janet Parker-Smith is a Sydney-based artist who works with printmedia, sculpture, and altered books. She has been exhibiting nationally and internationally for 20 years. Her work deals with identity, displacement and the environment. Janet is represented by Van Rensburg Gallery, Hong Kong, and has had several solo exhibitions at May Space Sydney. Materials: Bring a collection of existing images, textures and flat materials that can be used in the process of printing and bookmaking. All other materials included.
Suitability: Beginners or those wishing to experiment with new techniques.
